This storybook tiny home in Ontario is straight out of a dream
Her name is Little Star.
This beautiful tiny house on wheels was built by its owners, Braelyn and James, in South River Ontario. And it’s for sale!
Braelyn says, “All my heart and soul went into designing and building this house. It was mostly me, who built it, and James came up to help on weekends, and my friend John, a semi-retired home builder who came a few days a week to make sure I was doing absolutely everything right.
“He called it a “serious overbuild”, meaning I overdid everything, even when it was unnecessary. But that is what happens when a home is built by the owners. Care goes into everything.”
The home features a wood stove, two lofts, and a hammock outside. There are storybook details throughout – you could spend days just taking in the design of this home.
“There are positive, loving messages written inside the walls by me and any friends who came up to visit.”
“We lived in it for only two years and loved every minute. We were fully planning on buying land in an unorganized township (both Llount and Laurier are unorganized near here), which means you can build what you want, even different sorts of structures like tiny houses, without any hassle.”
“But then all that craziness happened in the world and the prices went way up so we couldn’t afford it. What ended up happening was a very small house came up for sale really close to Crystal Cave (our business), and I ended up buying that, and even though there is 20 acres of forested land, I couldn’t legally move the tiny house there because it is an organized township.”
“Sooooo.. here we are. Selling the most awesome creation we ever made.”
The owners of the house hope it will go to someone who can truly appreciate its uniqueness, and are not looking to make a lot of money.
“We are asking $89,000, even though people are easily selling same sized ones for $150,000, and up. But we just want someone great to have her without the giant price hikes in the last few years. We want someone to love this little house, and make it their home.”
“We would love to keep her, but in the end we got what we were trying to achieve, which was to have a home to live in, and now we do have that, so someone else can have their first or forever home that we built with our own hands ✨⭐️”
