Description:
Little Star ⭐️ Tiny House is a beautiful, owner-built (Braelyn Rose and James Toth) Tiny House on Wheels located in South River Ontario. A triple axle home (3 wheels on each side), movable by large pick-up truck / tow truck, it weighs approximately 20,000lbs. It is 32’ long x 8.5’ wide x 13.5” tall (road legal). Square footage is 200 (not including the two king-sized lofts and the bridge connecting them).
Comes with the best wood stove by Vermont Castings, which heats up the house easily in the winter months, and has a pull-out tray for the ashes so you don’t have to wait until the fire is out in order to clean it (which is crucial in cold weather). There are always embers in the morning if we time it right so a couple of logs can be added in the morning to start it up again easily. It takes full-sized logs which is very different from small pellet stoves or ones where you have to chop your wood so small to fit. We used 2.5 cords of wood each winter to heat the house. We built a fireproof floor covering and left the appropriate 1” gap between the wall and the steel fire shield. The insulated chimney comes with the house and is removable for travel (currently removed and ready to go). You can see from the photos that it sits well above the required height.
We passed our electrical inspection, and have the sticker certification. It passed as a regular house would, due to a metal plate that gets buried several feet deep in the earth that grounds the whole panel. The whole house can be plugged into the town electrical system with a long plug attached to the panel (or convert it to solar or propane on your own). There are many outlets inside to accommodate all plug-in items, and two in the exterior bump-out storage cubbies in the front and back. You will see outlets near the ceiling with light switches next to them, as we designed it to be mainly lit by strings of faerie lights (that can be turned on and off with the switches). There is a stronger voltage heavy duty wire for a washing machine that can be hooked up and a space for it inside. A medium/small fridge comes with the tiny house but there is enough room for an apartment sized fridge which would suit full-time living. There are also solar and propane fridges available on the market now that could be used if you convert the house to solar, and/or outfit it with propane in the future. The house comes with two very large unused solar panels, so it can be converted using an inverter etc.
Natural light floods in from all sides through the 13 windows, the French doors in the front and the all-glass door in the back that I planned to build a big deck off of. Ventilation in the warmer months is amazing 🙂
The house has a double sink, live edge wood countertop (sealed very well), a pull-out cutting board, storage room under the sink for an interior water tank, and a very large convection toaster oven we used to heat up or cook anything. It comes with two small plug-in flat cook-tops as well.
The bathroom has a decent-sized soaker bathtub, a large porcelain sink with storage below, a sliding, insulated door for privacy (Roxul Sound Boards inside). It comes with a C-Head Compostable Toilet with a urine diverter (number 1 goes in one part, number 2 in the other, which you add ashes from your wood stove to, or saw dust). (We only used the toilet for number 1, as we had other facilities). We had the house plumbed to accommodate a regular toilet, so if a compost toilet is not your thing you can have a plumber install that and hook it up to a septic system on your site.
If you do decide compost is fine for you, we installed a small door in the bathroom so you can pass the bucket through there instead of bringing it through your house 🙂
There is a sleeping loft that comes with an almost new king-sized mattress that is extremely comfortable. The other loft can either be another room or a hang out space, and the bridge I just love for drinking my tea and reading a book 🙂
The house was built on a brand new steel flatbed designed specifically for a tiny house, built by Action Trailers near London, and has a VIN Number and licence plate.
The house was built with 2×6 construction instead of the standard 2×4 so we could use more Roxul (very fire resistant insulation) in the walls, and the floor and ceiling joists are 2×12 with Roxul insulation in both.
The bottom of the house is covered in metal flashing to prevent any animal invasions.
There are two sets of stairs leading up to each loft, with storage for clothing etc. under both. There is also storage under the landing step and the bottom step has the ability to be pushed in if you want to lay in the indoor hammock without worrying about falling on it. (The hammock comes with the house permanently tucked into a cubby designed especially for it so it sets up in 10 seconds to a hook on the other side 🙂 It also serves as a fire escape by throwing it out the window if needed.
So if you would like a tour please email us, and we will set up a time. We brought it back to Crystal Cave in order to sell it more easily, as we can show people during the days we are working 🙂

I did a lot more work on the house with fine details, after this was filmed, and paid a plumber to do interior plumbing so that if anything freezes or goes wrong, it is easily accessible from inside, instead of having to cut open walls etc. There are a few minor things left for a plumber to do.
We are asking $89,000, even though people are easily selling same sized ones for $150,000, and up. But we just want someone great to have her without the giant price hikes in the last few years. We want someone to love this little house, and make it their home.
We would love to keep her, but in the end we got what we were trying to achieve, which was to have a home to live in, and now we do have that, so someone else can have their first or forever home that we built with our own hands ✨⭐️
