Cochrane, ON offering $10 plots of land
Cochrane, a Northern Ontario town of 5000 people last year announced it would be offering 1,500 plots of land for just $10 each.
Hoping to double its population, the town is actively attracting new residents and offering a further 3-year break on property taxes to those who decide to take the move.
In a recent interview with Macleans magazine, the town’s mayor specified that we are not just talking about “$600,000 bungalows”, but that tiny homes and other diverse dwellings are welcomed.
