Alberta campground welcomes tiny home dwellers and their dogs
Great news! We received this lovely note from a year-round campground in Alberta that hopes to welcome more full-time tiny home dwellers!
Camp N’ Class RV Park is located just outside Edmonton and they’ve told us that they’ve been working with their local township to allow tiny homes on their campground.
Mar Erker, the park manager said, “We applied at the town through email and a written proposal. As well as stopping in to chat with them and share our vision. It took lots of phone calls and patience. It has been about a 2 year process.”
With the patience now paid off, they’re hoping to attract RV rated tiny homes to their dog-friendly adults only park.
“We are a beautifully manicured 4 season RV Park in Stony Plain Alberta. Our sites have a brick patio and picnic table as well as a small grass area and privacy hedge. Residents can have up to two dogs.”
“We have on site massage therapy, on site laundry, washroom facilities, a common patio area, sometimes entertainment. We are right on the edge of Stony Plain and have a locked, gated walking bridge that goes over to a park, grocery stores, little shops and many eateries all within a 5 minute walk.”
While the park itself is 40+ adults only, grandchildren and other family are allowed to visit and stay on your site.
Each tiny home would have to be CSAZ240RV or NFPA1192 certified and the park requests a photo to be submitted so they can keep up the aesthetics of the park.
The tiny homes would have to abide by the same terms as the RVs at the park, which means they must be towable and there are no decks, sheds, tents or gazebos allowed.
Monthly rates right now are $950/month. If you’re interested, please contact Mar Erker, the Camp ‘n Class RV Park Manager at [email protected].
